Bows & Ribbons: A Serious Style Statement
Bows are back, and this time it’s for keeps. Bows have a rich history, dating all the way back to the Roman Empire, when ribbons and bows were used to enhance gifts, clothing, and even soldiers’ armour. Still, bows and ribbons have come a long way since then and are now commonly found tied around a wreath, secured around a gift, and even used to decorate a festive table. This year, bows are bigger than ever, and we don’t just mean in popularity. The bigger the bow, the bigger the impact and this year, we introduced a selection of medium-sized bows, all luxurious enough to make a truly unique statement in your home. A personal favourite, pictured above, is our cream velvet bows, used generously around the tree to create a striking tree design. Large tree topper bows and ribbons are also encouraged this year.
EZ TIP: Use large, velvet ribbons to fill any gaps in your Christmas tree. This will make your tree look fuller and more luxurious, similar to what you might find with our professionally designed trees in our showrooms nationwide.
Supersized Decor For Maximum Appeal
Scale isn’t just affecting bows this year; it's an important element for all Christmas decor, including decorations. Put simply, the bigger the ornament or figurine, the better. Not one to be out of the loop of emerging trends, we anticipated this some time ago and decided to introduce several supersized ornaments and standing figurines to our 2025 seasonal collection. One of our favourites is the wonderfully nostalgic Father Xmas Figurine above. With his Nordic attire, big presence, and friendly smile partially covered by a beard, this Santa Claus is set to create a statement for all the right reasons. Still, it’s not just standing decor that is set to shine this year. Supersized tree decorations should also be considered to create a truly impactful tree display.
Vintage Ornaments: Embracing Nostalgic Charm
There’s a big demand for all things nostalgic this Christmas. This trend was gathering momentum last year too, and honestly, we’re glad to see it’s back again. Christmas decor that embraces timeless elements and nostalgic motifs should be prioritised this year. Look for ornaments that are representative of your childhood, whether that’s a vintage-inspired nutcracker, a regal stag, or a ballerina music box. Tinsel, hanging paper angels, and homemade crafts also fall into this category and would be a wonderful accompaniment to anything purchased. The end result should instantly transport you back to holiday seasons from your childhood.
Unfiltered & Unapologetic: Bauble Maximalism
Bold, drama-filled decor that differs from the norm is stealing the show in 2025. If vintage ornaments, supersized decor, and large bows and ribbons aren’t your thing, perhaps this is! This eclectic-style theme encourages shades that aren’t necessarily associated with Christmas, i.e. hot pink, pastel purple, mustard yellow, and sky blue. Not only that, but these non-traditional colours are being paired together to create a quirky, maximalist, and quite frankly, chaotic (in the best way) style. If you’re not willing to jump straight into eclectic Xmas, perhaps you could dip your toe into it by investing in a gold/mustard yellow top hat bauble (pictured above). Also available in red, the hat ornament with its delicate, glittered bow would create a wonderful and unique statement, paving the way for even more maximalist embellishments for future Christmases.
Dramatic Details: Luxurious & Grand Candle Holders
Christmas is generally the one time of year when everyone wants to create the illusion of grandeur and luxury in their homes. One way we can easily do this is by investing in specific decor, such as candelabras. These elegant candle holders have been around for some time now and were once valued as pieces of art, as they often featured unique and intricate designs. Now, a candelabra, or candle holders as they are also known, feature bolder and braver designs, but they still carry a luxurious look which many of us crave this time of year. The Gold Xmas Tree with 8 T-Lights Christmas Candle Holder features a modern tree design that still maintains that grand and classic look from designs gone by. With space for 8 small tealights, your room will be sufficiently lit, and you’ll have the perfect table centrepiece or sideboard accessory. If you’re looking for a traditional, tree branch-like design, the Menorah Nickel Candle Holder would also be a great choice.
