There’s nothing like a good Christmas theme to get you excited for the upcoming holiday season. Visiting your favourite furniture and accessories store (like EZ Living Furniture) is a great way to become inspired by this year’s themes. Still, that’s not always possible with daily tasks, playdates, and tight schedules, which is where this EZ Living Furniture blog comes in! Christmas 2026 has plenty of popular Xmas themes to choose from, some we have seen before but with a fun twist, and others that are completely new and will blow your mind. Keep reading below to see which themes made the nice list....
Pretty In Pink Christmas
Pink Christmas! Who would have thought? Of course, this isn’t the first time we’ve laid eyes on a pink Christmas theme. It first appeared in shops a few years back and became the talk of Christmas town. We saw hot pink Christmas trees, flamingo picks, glittered baubles, Barbie ribbons, and we’re not afraid to admit that it was a lot! This year, we’re celebrating Pink Christmas, but in an entirely different way, a more subtle way. First things first, we’re saying goodbye to hot-pink-coloured Xmas trees; a traditional green, real or artificial Christmas tree is the favoured choice this year. For your Pretty In Pink theme, you’ll need to invest in light pink, rose gold, and blush-coloured baubles, all of which should then be hung delicately from the branches of your Christmas tree. To complete the look, introduce some Christmas ornaments in the same subtle pink colours on a nearby coffee table, mantelpiece, or sideboard. A big colour trend this year has been the blending of a rich, burgundy red with a light pink tone, creating an eye-catching colour scheme that’s visible in fashion, homeware, and more!
Dark Academia Christmas
This is an unexpected addition to the list and certainly a theme that hasn’t featured before. When we think of Christmas, our minds are often filled with traditional colours like red and green, as well as metallics such as silver or gold. Dark Academia Christmas turns those traditional colours on their head, embracing a dark, moody, but magical vibe. Deep bottle green and aged leather shades are key colours to incorporate if you’re looking to bring this Harry Potter-esque theme into your home for Christmas. To make those shades pop, brass accents should also be incorporated where possible. The aim is to create a cosy, old-world atmosphere with a touch of festive magic. Think rich textures, antique-inspired decorations, flickering candlelight, and classic books all lined up neatly on a grand bookcase. Dark wood furniture like our Flow Dark Brown console table (pictured above), velvet ribbons, and rich textures from decorative ornaments can help complete the look.
Cottagecore Christmas
Cottagecore Christmas is all about embracing a cosy, rustic feel with a touch of countryside charm. If you’re like us and you love the English cottage featured in the popular Christmas movie The Holiday, then this is the perfect theme to take inspiration from. Think traditional decor, natural materials, and a warm, lived-in feel, complemented by lots of greenery, wooden decorations, and vintage-inspired ornaments. Soft, neutral shades mixed with muted reds would work beautifully alongside handmade decorations such as dried orange slices and textured pinecones. Knitted stockings, warm twinkling string lights, and traditional toys such as our vintage-style resin rocking horse (pictured above) would also make a lovely, nostalgic addition and storybook feel to your Christmas decor.
Quiet Luxury Christmas
Quiet Luxury Christmas is all about understated elegance, focusing on simplicity, quality, and timeless decorations rather than bold colours and exaggerated displays. Think a sophisticated palette of warm whites, oatmeal, cream, ivory, champagne, soft golds, and muted greens. Full, lush greenery, delicate ribbon, elegant but simple baubles, and warm white lighting are all you really need to create an effortlessly luxurious look. The key is to keep things simple and only add items to your display if they truly belong and not just because you have them. This theme should feel warm and inviting without feeling overly flashy. Natural-looking greenery like our North Green Garland with Lights and Large Bell and Pine LED Wreath (pictured above) would complement this theme perfectly!
