On the 16th of December 2021, EZ Living Furniture’s own Ola Jordan had the pleasure of donating some chocolate treats to the children of St. Bernadette’s Ward in University Hospital Galway. As a family-owned business that has been operating in Galway for the last 23 years, we understand how important it is to help as many local communities, charities and businesses as we can. This season, we wanted to recognise the amazing work of the staff at St. Bernadette’s and the children who regrettably have to spend the holiday season in hospital. We wanted to help spread some much-needed Christmas cheer with a small gesture.
We donated 196 chocolate selection boxes in the hopes that this small token would help to bring a smile to a child’s face this Christmas. St Bernadette’s undertake a huge amount of work every day. This year especially has been more challenging than ever for both the staff and children of the University Hospital Galway’s Paediatric unit due to Covid-19.
St. Bernadette’s Unit is located on the ground floor of the hospital grounds, it has been successfully treating and supporting children and their parents for a number of years. This ward is committed to providing children with the highest standard of care in a child-friendly and family-centred environment. They provide general and specialist multi-disciplinary health care services for children and infants in the Galway region. For this reason, and many others, we knew we had to help them this Christmas.
Christmas is a time for giving and the perfect opportunity for us all to come together and help one another in whatever way we can. We encourage everyone to donate whatever they can to improve the hospital experience for the children attending University Hospital Galway’s Paediatric unit. Galway Sick Kids Foundation is a charity whose purpose is to fundraise for St. Bernadette’s Paediatric Unit.
